FILTER BY COUNTRY & ORGANISATION -or- ISSUE AREA:
NIGERIA

Nigeria made some of the newest commitments, but it has not completed any of the commitments.

Only five of Nigeria’s 20 commitments are inactive. None of these were ambitious, but most were new. New pledges to implement bilateral arrangements that ensure law enforcement in one partner country has full and effective access to beneficial ownership information of countries in the other partner country, and to join the pilot initiative for the automatic exchange of beneficial ownership information, are inactive.

Nigeria’s pledge to establish a public central register of company beneficial ownership information is ongoing, as is the commitment to establish a transparent central register of foreign companies bidding on public contracts and buying property.

Nigeria’s new and ambitious commitments are ongoing and underway. Ongoing is the pledge to work towards full implementation of the Open Contracting Data Standard, and underway is the pledge to implement the principles of the Open Government Partnership and the Open Data Charter.
