About the Global Anti-Corruption Pledge Tracker

The Global Anti-Corruption Pledge Tracker is a civil-society assessment of how sixteen governments have performed on the delivery of commitments made at the 2016 Anti-Corruption Summit. The Tracker is led by Transparency International UK (TI-UK), but is a collaborative effort with other Transparency International chapters or country partners in each relevant country.

In its categorisation of progress on each commitment, the tracker also takes the strength of the original commitment into consideration by detailing how concrete, new and ambitious the original commitment was in 2016.

The full methodology for the Tracker can be found here. All assessments are correct as of spring 2018, and will be updated again in the autumn.

The Global Anti-Corruption Pledge Tracker is not an index, as we do not rank or score governments based on their implementation performance. Comparing progress on commitments across countries is discouraged, as the pledges made at the 2016 Summit varied in content and quality. For detail and additional notes on the strength of each commitment, please download the full dataset.

If you are aware of any outdated information captured on the Global Anti-Corruption Pledge Tracker, please contact TI-UK or the relevant TI chapter with publicly available evidence of more accurate information. This data will be updated again in autumn 2018, and we’re always working to ensure that the assessments we publish are up-to-date and based on evidence.
