The EU Directive and other international obligations on Asset Recovery have been implemented through amendments to existing legislation, in particular to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code. The Asset Recovery and Management Agency was created in 2016, but the necessary law was adopted by the Parliament in 2015. At the moment, the ARMA is fully operational both when it comes to asset tracing and recovery and management. Furthermore, there are additional amendments considered by the Parliament right now in order to make the ARMA’s work even more efficient.

The Head of the ARMA actively participated in GFAR 2017 together with representatives from other Ukrainian institutions, which are relevant in asset recovery field, and civil society organizations.
