Kenya has not started activity on 54 per cent of its commitments.

Kenya’s only new and ambitious commitment that is underway is a pledge to take measures to establish public central registers of company beneficial ownership information. The other two new and ambitious commitments are inactive: an offer to host the African Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Coordination Centre, and a pledge to work with other stakeholders to support accelerated implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption’s voluntary provisions.

Commitments to ensure that international and domestic law enforcement agencies have full and effective access to beneficial ownership information for companies are inactive, as are commitments to join the Anti-Corruption Innovation Hub and the International Anti-Corruption Coordination Centre.

However, Kenya has pledged to pursue options for establishing transparent central registers of foreign and local companies bidding on public contracts and buying property, which is underway.
